What It Sounds Like To You, Rap or Hip Hop?

I’m doing this video post on a song I did called: “Man Of Steel” (God’s 4lo), which will be on my new Ep. called: “Certified” and wanted to see what others thought about what the sound and delivery actually sounds like to them. Is it Rap or is it Hip Hop? We all know how so many rappers/artist are drawn in to carrying the torch for the famous and very influential cultural title Hip Hop, but the question stands to whether they are actually doing Hip Hop or not.

Yea, I know, a artist may say that; they are doing Hip Hop, and or they’re doing Rap, one would have to respect that based off of ones choice, which there is no problem there. But, I think that many actually don’t know, and just running with the title, so that’s where the listener comes into play.

So, I have this video that I want y’all to listen to and watch and tell me what you think. Is it unique? Creative? Is it different from what you are listening to nowadays, and does the artist give you something to think about. What about the production? Does he sound like he has what it takes when it comes to bringing something new to this music game? Who do see me working with? And get this, I’m so not into my self that, I actually drop some names just to show how much love and respect I have for this rap and Hip Hop game, and those who put it down before me, I just picked up the torch whether they left it for me, to carry or not, I’m carrying it, and I think that I’m carrying it pretty damn well if I do say so my self.

I’ve also noticed how it tends to be a problem for rappers/artist to just let it be known to who and where they get their inspiration from. A lot of copy catting and cloning going on, but to each it’s own. I know what I know, and there is no biting here, like others have they’re favorites, I have mine, and they’re rap artist who I actually was listening to when I was running the streets heavy, though, I was listening to many who were from different sides. When I traveled back and fourth to Chicago, I bought and supported some of the locals from the underground, and those who made a breakthrough into the major music realm, but that was my choice. But, that’s not all, I also supported and drop some very well known artists and music producers names who been going hard for Kalamazoo, and who are still doing they’re thing til this day, but that’s just the type of artist that I am.

So who are these artist? Well, I’m not gone say the names on the post, but they are in the song, and video and this is my way of showing how much I appreciated they’re work, because for me, it’s bigger than just being a fan, I’m a student of this art, but don’t get me twisted, because, I’m also a teacher as well, just in my own way, but I also leave it up to my listeners to what they may have to say too, your thoughts, critiquing and pro and cons matter too. I can’t speak for another, and that’s what makes me, and my work a work to be reckoned with, I just do what I do, and it’s like no other.

Anyway, I hope that y’all will enjoy what I’m bringing to this saturated music game, and I would appreciate your like and following of my work on and off line. And if you here some familiar name that ring a bell tag’em in this post and or tweet, share etc, and see what they have to say about this post. Leave a comment below, and feel free to ask any questions. I’m setting it off, it’s time to set the record straight. Rap Vs Hip Hop make no mistake, and remember who said it. The Artist 4 the People Blessings to all.

Rap artist for Kalamazoo Michigan is heating up with his up and coming new Ep.

Kalamazoo local recording rap artist Chief Adam the Great X is heating up with his new Ep that is sure to give his fans as well as music listeners in Kalamazoo and throughout Michigan an ear full of versatility, creativity and straight up hardcore flavor that gives you a reason why he stands to be a force in this new music game to be reckoned with.
“I’m not just your regular, and average local recording rap artist, I’m the type of artist who offers and brings a new energy in thought when when it comes to creativity, I bring mine to my audience, followers of my workings and listeners on a dual level. There’s a whole lot of rappers and Hip Hop artist in Kalamazoo and Michigan as a whole. There’s some real lyrical katts in the game, but there are also those who are straight whack and destroying the image and essence of what rap is really about and what it stands, so that’s why I’m in it; to bring the essence back, and to show the music listeners who feel like rap has no life in it; that there are still warriors, students, and teachers like me, who taking what is and has been disrespected back, its the return of rap.”
So with that being said, check out the production, and listen to the lyrics that’s being kicked on the song called: “Hardcore” that basically is Chief ATG X given’ it to em in the Raw about why he stands to be one of the true representatives who really puts in a lot of work when it comes to doing music.
But that’s not all; this artist is so razor sharp and creative with his workings; that he even puts his own videos together. No, not done with the best equipment, but so gifted that God has granted him the ability to use what is considered as the cheapest tools, but he works them like a smith. Its not just what you use, because you can have a little of nothing and make something right?
This artist is showing up those who try and tear him down by trying to discredit his work because its not done by a certain video or music producer and or expensive equipment.
“I’m just doing my thing and utilizing what I have. I don’t just rap just for the record, I’m a universal artist with the flow to go fast or slow. If I’m able, I’m gone do it with or without anyone. So when I see the competition if that’s what they wanna be, who has all the aid and assistance, all the support, all the money, all the connects and even a big fan-base, it would appear that I wouldn’t be able to be a match or hold up, but understand this; look at the positions, I’m a one man entourage holding his own while your favorites put on a good show for you. My purpose is opposite, my mission is different and my goal as well as vision is to do; not what everyone else and how everyone else is doing it, but how i see to, I’m me, no “ID Crisis” here.”
Well, there you have it, straight from the kutt.
Check out the video, leave a comment below, like and share your thoughts about this artist who is for the people. Thanks for taking the time to read this post. Peace and many blessings.

Rap artist creates a visual example of the difference in the representatives of the Rap culture

What You See Is Not Always What You Get If You Don’t Want It

So tell me, what do you see? when you take a good focused look at the image in the above video? What is the first thing that comes to mind? Is the first thought right off the back a good one? Be honest. I am asking this question, because I’m showing you, the visitor of this site, and or reader of this post how important you are, and how much your thoughts count when it comes to the culture of Rap and Hip Hop. how important it is for you, the listener to pay attention to what you see, and listen to especially in these day’s of time where the truth is now stranger than fiction.

I’m not going to spend a lot of time on this topic, and its far more to it than me just wanting to get your attention for the purpose of being looked at as just another rapper trying to get on, be seen and get a record deal. My purpose is based off of my mission, and that is to reach one, to teach one by helping my audience to see, and know why I do what I do when it comes to making and producing music. But not only that, I have been gifted and given a particular type of authority granted by our supreme Creator to take on a task by my own freewill to do better with what has been given to me, than to misuse, abuse and be irresponsible with powers that would either help or hinder, heal or destroy. When you know you possess these powers (Co-Creator), it is up to you to figure out how they will be used no matter what form of art you are using it with.

So what would be an example of this certain power? Well, let me now direct you back to the image/video above, and then analyze what I mean. see, we all know how the rap culture has been, and is being used and misused for the sake of the promotion and glorifying of money, fame and material things. Have we not seen this picture before? How many rappers verbally sold you a dream by illusion? Trickery right? Well, who told us to fall for it? Was a gun placed to our head and made to? And it gets deeper, but my point is, is that we as consumers and listeners of the different music we listen are the ones who make or break the so-called BOSSES in rap and hip hop you know why? Because without us supporting their visions, ideas, and works they can no longer feed off your energy, and power that helps them gain off you, profit and even be controlled without you even being aware of the means of control that is being placed upon your mind.

So, here’s the deal when it comes to me, and what I place on the table and contribute to the rap and hip hop culture/game. What I bring to the game is what has always been here, but I’m just the one to bring it in a whole new and different way, and on a advanced level. See, when it comes to my style of flow, creativity and production, I refuse to allow myself to be boxed in and or a label placed upon me that I choose to either accept or not accept. When I’m asked the question: “what type of music do you do?” My answer is… I am a creative artist with the abilities to be universal, but I am more of a rap artist, and that is for a reason. I don’t claim to be a hip hop artist, but I possess the ability to do it, and do it well when I need to, it just all depends on the mood, and what project is at hand. My aim is to show people who see how watered down the rap and hip hop game has become; that all is not lost, every artist is not subject to following what is trendy and clone like.

Every rap and or hip hop artist is not selling out, and every artist doesn’t have to wave money and promote death in order to be seen as a good and or great recording artist. Temptation is real people, and its being used at a high frequency and they are using you to get away with the destroying process. I know some who listen to my work probably say: “how can he say he’s a man and artist of God and for the people when his music sounds hardcore? He curses, and he says things that are not of God” And you know what, for some in their mind that’s how they feel, and it is not my responsibility to force them to change how they may feel, but there are others who see and hear otherwise, and feel totally opposite, because for some something that I might say may make a whole lot of since to them, and may even help them in some type of way.

Meaning; if I speak through my music and no matter what was and is said that one may agree or disagree with was there something that one could take with a grain of salt and think about, and or even use to help them mentally in some type of way? What I give is the good, bad and ugly possibilities of what we all may go through, what we all may face on our own paths in this life. My path is my path just like yours is yours, but we all should be reaching through elevation of our mind by thought. When I speak on scriptures in the Holy Bible, and utilize them within my artwork, am I now doing what was asked of me?

John 15:26-27 “When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father— the Spirit of Truth, who comes from the Father—he will testify on my behalf. You will testify also, because you have been with me from the beginning.”

Now am I wrong for feeling as if I was deemed qualified for the task at hand? A helper that will come who is sent from the father who will possess the Spirit of Truth who will testify? Well, in my music, I testify, and when I’m not doing music, I testify. and what is the testimonies? Change. The change and transformation that can be seen through ones actions, and deeds. being put through the fire of life, and throughout ones obstacles and trials only you know who you called to for help in your time of need, and when in your darkest hours in life. All my life I’ve been going through ups and downs, the battle of the mind, and then I came to a point in my life where I just got tired of doing it my way and all by myself so I called for help.
And when I finally was able to see what was really going on, I knew then that sacrifices were mandatory. I have many many stories to how God guided me threw as my co-pilot. Life and death experiences that many don’t make it through or come back from. And that there alone is what you can expect to hear coming from this artist like it or not. To each its own, and I am not put in position to force my thoughts nor change on anyone, my only job is to help guide you in hopes that you make better choices than I did in my time.
I wish that I had a dad/earthly father like me, who does what I do, and was there for me MENTALLY, and that alone is what is missing in many children’s lives right now. The teachers of your children are those who they emulate on TV, and entertainment. there is nothing wrong with neither if you help your child better understand and monitor what they are watching and communicate with them about things that way they can know the difference and make better decisions and choices early in certain situations. It is our responsibility to teach, govern and help them gain proper balance. Allowing them to just learn on their own is like throwing them out to the wolves.
Anyhow, I’m going to end this post on this note, and I hope that you are able to gain something from this post as well as any of the other ones I’ve posted. I would love to read your comments if you choose to engage. Hope to hear y’all soon, and remember; the change that we want to see in this world first starts with us peace and many blessings any questions feel free to use the comment box below and or subscribe in order to be plugged with updates before anyone else. So much more to come so stay tuned. Like and share, I would really appreciate it.

Kalamazoo Rap Artist drops a short clip of his rap video called: “Certified”

Chief Adam the Great’s rap Video titled “Certified” is getting the attention of music listeners in Kalamazoo

As a underground rap recording artist, and music producer and even a bit of a video producer as well, I am able to do things that your average is not doing. not that, I’m taking anything from them and what they are bringing, but I see myself with a major advantage over the rest who are making music right now.

Whether it’s about competition or not, those who take the time out to view and listen to my work shall experience; why I hold the title as CHIEF, as well as why I have GREAT on the end, and if you don’t know, my name ADAM has a meaning that is powerful in itself.

See, here’s the thing with me, I already know what I am up against when dealing with this world that we live in, and this music game. the deck is clearly stacked against me, but will that stop me is the question. Coming from the streets, I went through a lot, I experienced life in the streets of Kalamazoo that should actually be written about. No one can say that, I wasn’t out there when it was ugly especially in the mid-late 80’s going into the 90’s.

I’m not gone get into my whole life story, but this new song/rap video “Certified” is basically addressing that fact that, the street life that some of these rappers out here talking about in there songs is the life I once led as a street katt from way back, and was proud and I held my own, it wasn’t no joke and it’s not a joke when you put your own life on the line. I was a part of ALL of it, been there done that, and that’s why I’m certified.

Many have lost their lives in these wicked streets of Kalamazoo that many glorify. Some sacrificed their life and are now in M.D.O.C (Michigan Department of Corrections) doing football numbers because of the life that we lead in these streets. There are some out here who act like they were out there in that jungle where them animals lerk in the Zoo.

You have these rappers who gone tell they’re stories, just like I’m a paint the picture, just call me Zoopicasso. It’s a lot of talented rappers in Kalamazoo so being that that is the case there is also a lot of ego’s, pride, clicks, teams, gangs and also favoritism, and when you have all that going on listeners of Hip Hop and Rap music don’t know what to pay attention to.

So, with me, I feel like the underdog in this. Many have the opportunities, and plugs, and resources that I wish I had. I’ve been involved in different movements when it comes to this music game, and was able to gain that experience that I’m talking about, but on a another level, because now the involvement consist of younger rappers who I must say have the creativity, and talented but at the same time some of these rappers are either teenagers and or college students, and really have not experienced the life that me and my guys come from, and that’s where the whole certified thing comes into play, because who gone say I’m not certified? And what makes you certified? When them streets talk, and it’s time for them street resumes to come out who’s resume do you think gone have the most impact?

What I do, and how I do it is like no other, and I don’t do it just for me, I do it for those who blazed the trail, and paved the way for artist’s like me, who were before me in this rap game. Somebody has to pick up that torch for those listeners of rap and hip hop and let them know that, rap artist and hip hop artist has not given in to following the commercial watered down way of making music for the people. I consider self as a server, and it’s all about delivery.

Those who have the money and fame are showing what they are doing with it, and that’s they’re business, just like what I do with my business is my business. I used to be a little upset at the fact that, a lot of these rappers appear to be winning, but there is way more to it than that. Whether you know it or not, music is and has always had an impact on our lives, and from what it appears is that, it is being used for other purposes as well that I care not to discuss at this time.

My aim is to let the people in Kalamazoo, state, nation and even worldwide that, this spiritual lyrical rap artist is on the rise, and my workings alone speak a thousand words. Just this small clip alone has gained more feedback and attention without any major promotion push except from the listeners, than a full video and that says a lot. So I thank all my supporters, and listeners who take the time out of they’re busy lives to experience the work of #theArtist4thePeople. Check out the the video above and feel free to leave a comment, and share it. Let me know your incite, your opinion and your likes and dislikes about my art work. Alright, I’m out peace and many blessings.
