R. Kelly Just Took Another BIG L.
Well, here I go again y’all with yet another post that’s seriously enlightening from the artist 4 the people. So, I came across this article from AP NEWS. On how according them them. Today, Chicago black R&B singer R. Kelly was convicted a second time by a federal jury on not 1, not 2 or 3, but quite a few more charges of child pornography, and sex abuse and child enticement. Ole’ Kells, now 55, was found guilty once again on three counts of child pornography, but he was acquitted of the fourth charge of conspiracy to obstruct justice charge accusing him of fixing his state child pornography trial tampering in 2008 along with a not guilty on the 3 counts of conspiring to receive child pornography and enticement charges. His two co-defendants, associates D. McDavid and M. Brown were found not guilty on all charges.
McDavid according to what I’m reading is said to be a longtime business manager of Kelly’s who they said conspired with Kelly in 2008. Brown is said to be an associate who they acquitted of receiving child porn.
Two Different Trial Convictions
I know, I know, it was a little bit confusing for me too, but when I thought about it. Yep, there were two trials that Kell’s been dealing with. The one in New York that we really didn’t here much about, which lead to a federal judge in New York sentencing R. Kelly to three decades (30) years of time in prison for racketeering and sex trafficking. But, that’s just for that trial alone. After that, I take it that they then; extradited him back to Chicago on the second one, which is the trial they just convicted him on this go around.
R. Kelly and the Counts Against Him
From what I’m reading, there were 13 counts that the prosecutors were aiming to stick to him, and they 6 of the 13 that carry long mandatory sentences. And how they got him this time was through a key video, which I guess Kell’s showed quite a bit of desperation to recover porno tapes made and toted around with him and offered $1 million to recover them. during the 2008 trial.
R. Kelly to Face More Possible Charges and Jury Trials
Well, according to what I’m reading, yes 2 sexual misconduct trials, one in Minnesota and another in state court in Chicago. But as of now, Kell’s is awaiting to be sentenced on this one, which the Judge can hit him anywhere up to a life sentence. He was labeled as a master manipulator who used his fame and wealth to reel in star-struck fans.
Final Thoughts From the Artist 4 the People
Not looking good, not looking good at all for Kell’s is what I say, and said as I read as well as thought about some of the situation. I feel like this though. When it comes to the much of the similar to this that we see. Is it not showing you something, or do you just care not to see. There’s as always more to it, and we’ll possibly see down the line but for now, it just doesn’t look good. And what I mean by that, is that, something like this is never a good look when it comes to black men who come from a certain lower level in life, get your shot and big break that one always talked and dreamed about. Those times growing up wishing and praying for the opportunity. Then, when obtained, and one starts to having things such as the success, money, fame, wealth, love and that type of light. In the end what shows to happen?
Why is it that, the abusing of one’s position always tends to be projected and the case? And my question would be: “What are you getting from this and that’s if you’re getting anything at all?” I know what I’m getting from it, but what about y’all? I could go on and on as well as talk really bad and down on R. Kelly, but for what? That’s clearly already being done is it not? My thing is…. is what are you getting from it, and are you learning from it? Are you asking self: “Why is it that, it seems like as soon as black men (people) show to have, in the end up slowly loosing self?” Is it all by design? Or are they off into something else that eventually leads them down this very familiar road. Is there a message in this to and for other black men who want to follow suit? You can read more on this by hitting the link below.
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?.”
Mark 8:36
It should give you a good reason to wonder if R. Kelly’s situation shows to be a possible good example to the quoted scripture above. Prove them right, or prove them wrong. #CanUImagine
