Pedestrian Hit In Kalamazoo by Amtrak train Distracted By What?

Pedestrian Hit In Kalamazoo

Pedestrian Hit In Kalamazoo
So yesterday, I woke up feeling the way I usually feel. I don’t sleep as well as I would like to, because my mind is racing and bombarded. With? So many thoughts and much of what I think about daily. Anyway, this isn’t about me, but I’m going to break it down to how it relates to the topic, and why I felt the need to get to putting this post together.

Out of the thin air after I had woke up to a text message. Can you come and get me? Something that was unexpected for me, especially being that it was Saturday. She asked if I could pick her up.

When I did, I bought her lunch. I then found self talking to her about some things like how and what your time is used on, because you can’t get time back. And why paying attention to what is so important also popped up. When we left the restaurant we headed down west-main hill from Drake.

Pedestrian hit in Kalamazoo

When getting down the hill I noticed blue lights flashing, and yellow-tape ahead, and decided to gone and record. You can ride with us in the video as I share our moments in time by watching below. After seeing the yellow-tape and the train ahead, I knew that something very bad had happened. What were the chances right?

So then, I decided to use this moment as a teachable, and learning one for both me, and her. To be able to experience as well as learn so we hit Elm St. parked a ways down and walked to the scene.

There was a News 3 camera guy on the corner. We talked briefly only for him to confirm that I was right, a pedestrian was hit by the train. And this wasn’t the regular one either, it was Amtrak. I further engaged with him bringing awareness to the fact that, there had just been a bad automobile collision where the truck had flipped just weeks prior to. He was shocked!

Something Strange

After noticing that my phone had died while recording, I immediately asked her to grab hers and hit record if she had her phone with her. While doing so, something strange began to happen on the scene. Coming from the other side of the new road came some other pedestrians with their roller luggage. And that’s when the news man was like: “What are they doing?” Whoever these people were they wasn’t playing about not missing their ride, I guess as we watched them go up and under the yellow tape of the scene attempting to board the train.

Wild huh?

It is said that the train was headed to Chicago coming from Pontiac. This is one of the major trains for the Midwest, and moves full speed ahead after parting from Kalamazoo’s train station down the tracks that lead west.

So how does what I typed earlier tie into the topic and Questions

When you think about it, In these dayz of tyme, you just don’t know where people’s minds are in time. A lot of thinking and things going on in their head, much of what I typed above, you think some of that isn’t going on with other people? Indeed it is, and can’t forget the mentioning of distractions. And let’s not act like during these holidays like (Thanks Giving) which are moments in time where people are affected mentally and Spiritually.

Yes, in some type of way we can be affected and so caught up in whatever the moment is. Taken by other stuff like “distractions” and even moving too fast to where we pay less attention. Which then possibly leads to horrific tragedies like this one.

Questions

My question at this point is: “Where the Pedestrian hit in Kalamazoo was at consciously and or doing?” To NOT see, hear nor aware that this fast ass loco-motor train was coming their way? I answered a question some days ago through Daily Prompts “Do you trust your Instincts.” Which plays a very relevant part in this post if you can see how.

I even told my mother about what happened and she even recalls the time when a teenage girl that was also hit by a train here in Kalamazoo (walking on the train tracks), but closer to where the old drop-in center was.

Why? Because she was possibly wearing headphones/earphones and apparently didn’t hear it coming. So now my question is: “Was this the case when it comes to this pedestrian hit in Kalamazoo?” Was it a matter of being distracted? Drunk, high or even maybe suicide? Passed out on the tracks?

Or maybe it was a case of trying to make it across, tripped and then fell or dropped something? It’s way too early to know what really happened.

EndNote

So on an end-note, and whatever the case was, they didn’t make the time and that’s why I’m taking the time to do this post. I had just spoken to her about making time, paying attention and the importance of thinking ahead. These are the thoughts I was delivering to her, not knowing that there was a pedestrian hit in Kalamazoo you see it now? I think that this is yet another one of those moments in time where the lesson and message comes full circle.

Are you, have you and can you learn something from this tragic situation, and what I have typed in this post? Is there a message to be received? I could tell you that, I myself did. Are you listening, and paying attention Spiritually? And nonetheless what are you doing with your time? #CanUImagine
