Power outage in Kalamazoo got me like Can U Imagine

Power outage in Kalamazoo. Can U Imagine? Yep, I was actually up but didn’t know that the power had gone out. Not until, I got up and saw how much darker it was. It all seemed the usual to me, but I knew that something was different.

Power outage in Kalamazoo what happened?

What happened is that, I happened to get an alert on my phone earlier in the evening on Sunday. The whole storm with strong winds up to 80mph is what the message had read. I’m telling you, none of this seemed as bad. Not until I was told about some incidents like the tree falling onto a car while some people were driving in traffic.

Then, I was told how the whole top part over the gas pumps at a Marathon gas station out on West main near the highway. Was moved by the strong winds where it tilted over. This power outage in Kalamazoo isn’t the first, and from the little I’ve seen online this storm with strong winds actually got busy. Power lines and trees were this storm and winds target.

I really just wanted to do a quick post on it tonight while laying here in the dark. Not just because it has impacted me, but to also let others who have also been affected by this. Know that, I know how it feels and they’re not alone.

And like I told my mother, and my woman when I took them both subs: “I’d rather it be me, the one going through it then them.”

What now? Shout-out to Consumers Energy and the crew

So earlier today as I got up and there still wasn’t any power. I still had to figure my day out, because life has to go on right? And I did, I refused to let this situation get the ups on me ya dig. Reminding self: “You’ve already seen worse.” It’s almost 170,000 spots with no power, which led to Governor Gretchen Witmer declaring a State of Emergency for Northern Michigan.

I’m not going to trouble self by thinking about the food in the fridge and no heat. So, I got out and did something for those who deserved it. And now I’m back here still with no power, but you know what? There are those who do, and I’m thankful just to see them have it. And then there are almost 2 hundred others like me!

I also watched, read and listened to how the Crew for Consumers Energy are out here trying to get power back on for us who are going without. There are 600-700 workers, and others from different states as well who are helping out too. Here’s the link to watch and read for yourself. Consumers Energy Crew Working Hard to Help Restore Power In West Michigan This is why I’m doing this post.

To make it known how much those of us do appreciate these workers who are out here. People can want all they want, but don’t really know. Know how stressful as well as risky it is to do the job they do. How these workers have lives too, but put their life and time on the line. Shout-out to each and everyone of you from ZoORillah!

Endnote

I could do it without the most high almighty G-d involved. That’s easy to do, but when it comes to thinking and the mind, there’s nothing easy about trying to maintain. So, I try not to face the moment without especially when it comes to situations like this. And this power outage in Kalamazoo and throughout Michigan should give that reason to not forget and remind self to.

And my thoughts on it all are merely put together for you, the possible reader to ponder on. When in situations like this, how do you deal with it? Take me, being on my phone, but I’m showing you why. How you choose to utilize your mind and time in itself is what is called one of many battles of the mind.

Yes, it’s a little COLD in here and being without power sucks. But yet, I am thankful, might not be able to do what I enjoy like making some music but am grateful and appreciative. Power is in prayer, and I’m sending prayers of safety, protection and guidance for my city Kalamazoo, for my State; Michigan and the United States as a whole. And may G-d continue to keep us as well as provide us with what is needed, Ahmen. Can U Imagine?
